Most people fail to achieve their fitness goals, partly because they don’t have enough inspiration. But if you scour through social media, you’ll see an abundance of Vancouver personal trainers who can be the motivation you’ve always been looking for.
We understand that social media can be a bit of a dumpster fire at times and staring at all these gorgeous, fit people doesn’t necessarily do much for your self-esteem but used right, it can be a tool for motivation, support, and accountability.
So having said that, let’s check out some of the most prominent online fitness personalities who have some great information and motivation to get fit, no matter where you are at in your health goals.
We’ve chosen the list carefully not based on how many likes or followers these people have but how they fit in with our training philosophy.
Jamie Anna
The mother of three is the perfect example of what and how fitness should be. She’s one of Vancouver’s most inspiring personal trainers. Besides being one of the most sought-after pre/postnatal fitness specialists in the city, you can go to her social media for inspirational quotes and fitness ideas.
Denise Galay
Denise is the owner of Zumba Vancouver. If you’re bored of lifting weights, Denise offers a fun and interesting fitness program. Zumba has exploded in popularity over the last decade or so. Denise admits that Zumba took her by surprise when she was a fitness instructor and was curious at this cross between dance and fitness. She works with 12 instructors in total with clients across Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey and North Vancouver. Due to COVID, she now teaches all her classes online.
Michelle
While Booty by Mitch sounds like just another one of those accounts trying to entice you to follow, Michelle is far from your typical personal trainer. Her account is a blend of truisms, motivation and her workout philosophy. Michelle works as a personal trainer in Vancouver and blogs in her free time. She has over 18,000 followers on Instagram, which says a lot about her influence in the local fitness industry. Michelle has a ton of workout videos which you can find at bootybymich.com
Cian Lanigan
Originally from Ireland, Cian has chosen to make Vancouver his home. His gym Enhanced Performance is on Kingsway where he does group training sessions. As a competitive cyclist, he represented Ireland in the 2003 Youth Olympics in Paris. He has a degree in Sprot and Exercise Sciences from the University of Limerick and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Sharan Scali
Sharan’s background makes her an excellent prospect for anyone looking for a personal trainer. She’s the one to call when you’re looking at CrossFit training. The owner of Semiahmoo Athletic Club is an Olympian who competed in weightlifting. By the way, she’s a nutritionist and hormone specialist, too!
Ilan Cumberbirch
Ilan’s Instagram is filled with training and workout photos with his folks at Yard Athletics. He prefers to be called a strength and conditioning coach instead of a personal trainer. He has an extensive background in hockey and even played professionally in Europe. His varsity-style gym is unmatched in Vancouver, offering full-body workouts, strength training, and more.
Club 16 Trevor Linden Fitness
Of course, no list of Vancouver trainers would be complete without mentioning Vancouver’s number one citizen: former Canuck Captain Trevor Linden who was given the ‘C’ at the age of 21. Lindon along with his business partner Chuck Lawson, owns a 40% stake in the gym. Although not technically a trainer, you should check out the gym’s social media channel for constant updates and fitness tips.
CrossFit Empower
Empower specializes in customized programs for every fitness level and ability. They work with anyone from someone who is just stepping into a gym for the first time to professional athletes. Located in Point Grey on Fifth and Alma, they have a fun social media account to give you techniques or motivation.
Gabby Villasenor
Gabby is one of Vancouver’s youngest personal trainers, but don’t let her age and looks fool you. She literally can take a punch as she doubles as a boxing coach. You’ll find her at the All-City Athletics boxing studio for the most part. You’ll be impressed when she puts on those boxing mitts. She works with clients on two fitness fronts: boxing and strength training.
Le Physique
And of course, we’d be remiss not to mention our channel. We have great content where you can learn all about exercises, best practices, and other fun content. We’re sure that you’re familiar with our brand but if you’re not, we are a holistic personal training studio that personalizes our approach designed on your goals. If you’re not already, please follow us. I’m sure we will make you smile at our crazy antics while we teach you something in the process.
Conclusion
If you’re serious about getting healthy and fit, follow these Vancouver trainers on social media. Their daily reminders will help you stay focused and can give you that much-needed motivation to keep going even when you feel like quitting!
